The 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Wednesday 12th February , to commence at 7.30pm at the Thirsk and Sowerby Institute on Flatts Lane , YO7 1LY

Please make every effort to attend the meeting and to participate where appropriate .

You will be please to know that memberships of Sowerby Angling Society remain the same as previous years at £35 for adults and £15 for Senior Citizens and Juniors.

Please note the deadline for renewals is 28th February. You should receive an e-mail with renewal details from the secretary.

Exchange Days

We have again arranged exchange days with The Cod Beck Fishing Club. They have several miles of the Cod Beck above Thirsk, all small stream fishing. . Days need to be booked in advance Via John Aston.

Could members please note that after the end of the trout season we can only fish for grayling from the stretch upstream of the Caravan site to the top limits of our waters, opposite Thirsk Swimming pool.

We are unable to fish the lower stretches below the Caravan site due to  autumn and winter shoots except on certain days. These will be advised by the secretary each autumn and after the trout season.
